Six Feet Under - Spoilers
I do need to tape the final episode so that I might figure out what happened to some of the characters.
If you have not watched the ending, stop reading now. I mean it, I am going to ruin things for you. To be nice, I will put things under the cut (if the damn thing works).
While Ball did a good job of bringing closure for the main characters, I was left wondering about some of the minor characters. How did Maya turn out being raised by what could be considered the poster family for disfunctional? What about Willa?
Was Maggie just in a doctors office to pimp pills or was there something else? Could there have been another little Nate? It was hard to tell how much time had passed since Nate died so it is difficult to tell if she is pregnant and not showing.
I would have liked to have seen how George did after Ruth passed on. Were they just friends or had there been some reconciliation? He was sitting at her bedside when she died.
I am assuming that one of the children Keith and David adopted went into the funeral business, I think Durrell. In one of the funeral shots (or a wedding), it showed one of the boys holding hands with another man. Durrell was also a bit homophobic, wonder if that came from his inner gay child.
I didn't like the way they took Keith out. I did like that he had his own business. I would have liked David's obituary to reflect that he was predeceased by his husband Kieth and survived by his partner, whomever. I think after all the drama in the beginning of their relationship that I wanted them to grow old together, and in view of that drama, it would have been nice to have seen how David coped with his death. It was nice that Keith appeared to him when he was going to die.
Brenda remarried and had another child with Billy still in the picture until the very end. I would have thought that Billy would have gone off the deep end long before he got that old. Who appeared to Brenda to help her over to the other side?
For that matter, was Claire able to see who was waiting to help her? I would hope Ted and her family were there waiting for her. She was over 100 so even Maya and Willa might have been there too.
