I had to have a bladder sling surgery in January '04, and I was only 24. The doctor did a double-take when I walked in the room for my referral appointment - he just couldn't believe that I was having that kind of trouble at such an early age. Little did he know I'd been having trouble since 22, but no one had listened to me until then! When he did the tests, he told me that my bladder was easily as bad off as that of an 80-year-old.

I'll probably have to have multiple sling surgeries in my lifetime, as they're only expected to last 10-14 years or so. We'll see...
