Going to Mecca

It is time for me to begin looking for flights to Columbus, Ohio so I can go to the Bee (Longaberger convention).  Prices has jumped, I am not seeing any fare war going on as far as my flights are.  Going from the baby airport here is about 381.00.  I have drive to Seattle (and find a place to leave my car where I am not paying 25.00 a day to park) it is 255.00.  I can drive to Spokane and save about 30.00 (any savings would be offset by parking fees or the "free parking" at the Ramada if I spend the night the previous night, which I might have to since the flight leaves at 6:00).  All flights from Spokane go to Seattle first.  Usually Travelocity is good but they aren't coming up with much.  I have tried flying into different airports (I have to rent a car anyways so that is not a big deal) but the prices are not much better.  I have tried flying to Philly, Indy, Columbus.  I will try Pittsburgh next.  Flying from Seattle sucks since it is a 3.5 hour drive to the airport.  Spokane is 2 hours.  Portland is 3.0 hours.  Wonder what parking is there?  I like Portland's airport, it is beautiful.

It's all just too expensive for me. I'm so glad to have been able to travel to the BEE once, but I don't know if/when I might go again... and I didn't even have to pay airfare! (We drove.)

I would love to drive but i am too far away. If prices stay as high as they are, I might have to drive. I love my car so I think it would be a fun trip.

It is expensive. At least I get military rate at the Crowne Plaza. Last year it was 75.00 a night, it has gone up to 95.00 a night. I book early so I am not linked to LB and can have extra nights if I want. Something to remember if you and Heather ever get to go again.

Hey, I didn't know you lived close to me. I live a little less than an hour from Spokane. If you wanted to, you could leave your car here (at my house) and I could take you//pick you up from the airport. Though we don't know each other, I wouldn't mind doing it. If that is an option to you at all, just let me know.

I will keep that in mind. The downside is that my flight might be leaving at 6 am (I can't remember all the scenarios available to me) which would be getting you up at a god-foresaken hour. Thank you for the offer!

If it would be on a weekday, that would work out great for me because I could get back to work by 7.
