Live 8 and Philly Freedom.

Did any of my flist score tickets to the concert of the weekend? Keys are shifitng to those Philly folks.

I am so jealous not to be able to even think about going. There seems to be 2 separate events going on on the Parkway, Live 8 and Philadelphia Freedom.

I can remember back in the day of seeing Sister Sledge on the Parkway during one of Philly's day long festives. Vou le vou.....(ok, French was not my major!).

I'm not sure what kind of tickets are needed for Live 8. I am not a fan of crowds, especially in hot weather, so I'm not sure if I'm going to check it out or not. Maybe I'll take the train down to Suburban Station or 30th Street and wander around a bit. The musical acts are not appealing to me at all.
In 11 minutes, WHYY is going to show some highlights from Live Aid... my sister and I were there 20 years ago...

I got the Live Aid DVD for Christmas only to realize the one group I wanted to see again wasn't there, my old bar band The Hooters (that and I used to be friends with John (Jon) Lilley). I watched it on TV back in the day, didn't have the money for the tickets then.

I was interested in some of the acts, not all but would not mind the diversion for an afternoon or so.

They aren't on the DVD?? Man, that's stupid. We walked in while they were playing, I think.

My mom bought the tickets on a whim-- she saw a line forming at the mall, and made a guess that it was the Live Aid line-- I guess thinking she and I would go, and then she realized that she couldn't sit out in the sun all day (she had lupus, among other awful things), so she recruited my sister to take me.

The idea of ONE MILLION PEOPLE and only 400 potties is enough to deter me from the whole thing.

My friend's sister is/was married to one of the Hooters... they live in Hawaii. It's not one of the main two guys, I don't know what his name is.

David Uosikkinen? Or Fran Smith? I know it isn't John, he's gay.
