Must post everyday?
Nov. 1st, 2006 10:44 amThis is going to get so boring for my flist. I apologize!
I have a roast going in the crock pot with potatoes, onions and carrots. I went a little heavy on the potatoes, the meat barely fit in (and my crock pot is huge). Depending on what hours I have for the new job, the crock pot may become my best friend.
It was so cold last night that I don't think I got more than 10 trick or treaters. It was a bit colder in 2003 and that is the year we got tons of snow. The snow was ok, I didn't need to go anywhere - I had food, wood, booze, reading material, the google and the internets - what more did I need?
If we get hit again this year, I do have to be someplace. Our street does get plowed since the waste water treatment plant is at the end and it is their pickup trucks with plows attached that do our street. I think I will have to stash an emergency bag in the car in case I get stuck at work. The boxes sit so low to the ground, I need to figure out how many inches of snow we can get and the car still be able to drive. It has traction so that won't be a problem. We only got a inch or so last year and I couldn't get it to fishtail at all so I'm not concerned with that.
The icon is the snow of 2003/2004. It completely covered the elves in the front yard - the elves are good sized ones that my father made. In NY we would put them on the roof, we did that in SC but the trees hid them. Now we just put them in the yard. I will have to get pictures of them without the snow.
Ok, November 1st is taken care of.
