Those places all the national stations have had people standing in the snow in today? Talking about lake effect snow? That be my original home, where I have gone every summer for the past 3 years (and won't be able to go this year too). 5 inches of snow per hour. Damn. Over 6 feet of snow on the ground now with additional accumulations of 8 to 12 inches per day.

Mexico is where my mother went to high school and where she and my father are buried. Ouderkirk is the family my one sister married into but this branch looks like it looked at the family tree and ran. My sister was not so lucky or had enough sense to run.

They compare the storm to the blizzard of '66. I remember that storm, stuck at home for a week. This is upstate New York here, they send you to school in the blizzard just to send you back home a few hours later. For some reason, I think we lost power too. We were friends with the people who owned the corner store and my father walked there (a mile in seriously deep snow) with one of the neighbors, dragging a sled behind him to get milk, etc.

It is coming up on the traditional snow weekend in Pennsylvania, wonder if snow will strike them too?

I want snow, just not that much!
