Jun. 20th, 2005 08:32 amFor those on my flist who live in the Washington, DC area (looking over at wendywhohoo ) Farm Aid is holding a gourmet picnic to be held at the Equinox Restaurant. Cost is a bit pricey at 75.00 per person.
What you get for your 75.00 buckaroos is:
4:00-5:00 pm - Farmers Market featuring local farmers, chef demonstrations and children's activities. Bring your kids and help the next generation to learn the importance of family farms and enjoy the food they provide.
5:00-6:30 pm - Family Picnic Dinner to celebrate the connection between quality food and the family farms on which it is grown. Buffet style dinner will feature farm-fresh dishes prepared by celebrated DC-area chefs.
6:30-7:00 pm - Live Auction featuring chefs' dinners and exciting event packages.
Live music by Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Adrienne Young & her string band Little Sadie.
Thank you to all participating chefs: Chef Nathan Anda of Tallulla, Chef Cathal Armstrong of Restaurant Eve, Chef RJ Cooper of Vidallia, Chef Brendan Cox of Circle Bistro, Chef Roberto Donna of Galileo, Mark Furstenburg of BreadLine, Chef Todd Gray of Equinox, Chef Cesera Lanfranconi of Tosca, Chef Pedro Matamoros of the Tabard Inn, Chef Jeffrey Potter of Market Salmander, Chef Fabio Tarabucci of Maestro, Chef Robert Wiedmaier of Marcel's, and Lebanese Taverna.
Sounds wonderful. We were fortunate enough to go to the Farm Aid Concert last year when it came to Seattle.
