Of course now they did it
Dec. 28th, 2008 04:35 amIn the month of December we have gotten over 10 inches of snow, usually on my days off. I will admit itcan be fun making your own lane on the highway at 5 am. The side roads? One giantic mess. I kept getting stuck trying to get into my driveway and getting out. I finally begged Mark to shovel the street so I have a fighting chance getting out of the driveway and could drive along the ruts.
The plow came yesterday, just in time for the melting rains. Mark had to shovel out the driveway again so I could get in and out. I drove to work yesterday as if nothing was wrong only to get to work and realize that there was nothing wrong with my wiper, that was ice on the window. Ignorance can be bliss I guess.
My contract with Amazon was to end January 3. Everyone got extended 1 week so that they could give the ones not being extended through the month of January 2 weeks notice. I'm extended but a couple of my friends weren't. We will have to have a party on the 10th for those not going back and for those who have gotten the next round of 2 week notices.
My sister (the ungrateful one) seem to have "made up". I called her about a mutual friends death and we are easing into a relationship. I sent her son (my nephew) a gift card for Christmas, she had Michael call me Friday to thank me. This is a nephew that I barely know anything about other than he is into transformers and he got a Wii from Santa. Baby steps but I love having her in my life again. I missed her.
I do get a bonus check from Amazon of 1.00 for every hour we worked during Q4. We didn't have the overtime this year. There were no manditory 1/2 hour lunches, minimum 10 hours of overtime per week. There was nothing. I did one supplemental and was bored silly.
Why am I awake on my day off?
