Some of you on my Flist are liberal, some of you are conservative, some are right smack dab in the middle.  So this is your warning, I am about to go off.  But, if nothing else, no matter how you might feel on the subject, GET IT IN WRITING!  NOW.

I am so tired of the vilification of Terry's husband.  I am so so tired of her parents parading their daughter (at her worst) across the front page and the 6 o'clock news.  I am so tired of the right-wing politicians sticking their noses into something they do not understand nor need to be involved with.  It is bad enough they are in my vagina, now they are in my hospital room too.  I am so tired of what should have been a private decision has now been politicalized the people who reportedly love this woman more than anything, her parents.  I am so tired that this story is all that people are talking about.  I am so tired of the current administration feels that this one woman's life is more important than those soldiers who are in a war. I am so tired of some calling others murderers because they had made the painful decision to disconnect a feeding tube. What is the point of naming a guardian to you if the current governor can just petition to make him guardian?  I am so tired of the whole damn mess.

What ever happened to dying with dignity?  This is not a right to life issue, she is not living, she is existing.  Existing and livng are not the same thing.

Where is the outrage about what just happened in Minnesota?  We have kids shooting up schools and that is overshadowed by this.  Where are the right to lifers there?  Still thinking gun control laws are bad?  That's right, guns don't kill people, people do.  Maybe if there were some gun locks on those guns used, a few people might still be alive.

Mine's not in writing... yet. But I have spoken with my parents at length about this... and with my brothers, too, and we all feel the same way, thankfully.

As much as I'm a Republican... I'm a Moderate. And I definitely agree with you. Why let this poor woman suffer through all this endless drabble?

The lesson learned from this is to document your wishes whatever they are.

I wouldn't want to be Terry's husband or parents or her friends/family now.

I keep hearing that more and more people are getting Living Wills... I wonder what the majority of them say-- would more people want to stay "alive" on machines or would they want to pull the plug? I'm inclined to think that the majority would want the plug pulled... but then there are those folks who get themselves frozen, so they can come back on the future...

I like what you said... I wish it wasn't so public and so political...
