No matter how hard I try, I can not make a link work under a word. For example, The Gorge. I cut and paste the sample, like so: My Homepage. I then careful insert the actual link http://www.hob.com/venues/concerts/gorge/ as thus: The Gorge. Then the damn thing didn't work but appears to be working here. I can't win!

So here are the links to the various fairs and venues that I mentioned in my last update.

The Gorge: http://www.hob.com/venues/concerts/gorge/

The King County Fair: http://www.metrokc.gov/parks/fair/index.asp

The Puyallup: http://www.thefair.com/page.asp?view=23

there are LJ clients (programs that interface with LJ) that have buttons and things to do the html side of it for you. that way you don't have to know the code. i use semagic, it's the easiest one for windows people to use. just go to this page and it will tell you all about clients and how to get one:
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqcat=clients

also, LJ is "smart" enough that when you paste in a URL it will automatically hyperlink it for you. so the only time you need extra coding is when you want the text of the link to be something other than the URL.
