Maybe too much TMI

Health wank under cut.

Mid-summer I finally switched doctors.  I didn't like my old doctor, he did not listen to my other complains and only focused on the diabetes and my weight.  He did listen when my mother passed away but that was about the last time.  I had actually gained weight since I had last been there so didn't want to go back since I knew I would get lectured.  So in my "stick my head in the sand and things will just go away manner", I didn't go back, my Rxes were on no refills but still wouldn't go back.  I finally selected another group and ended up with a PA.  She is wonderful  Listened to all my complaints, ran a ton of tests (some not so pleasant as the 24 urine collection test) and had me back there in a week.  Realized I was depressed (diabetes can make that worse), got me on anti-depressants), new diabetes meds, new blood pressure meds.  I am happy.  Went back to see her in a month, upped the anti-depressants, higher elavil dosage so I might sleep longer than 5 hours (still need to tweak those) and gave me referrals. 

For years I have had incontinence issues from the gotta go gotta go to "please don't let me sneeze now".  Dr. Amanda had put on Ditropan and there was some improvement but that ended if I had caffeine or alcohol or was late taking my next pill.  Believe me, I had mentioned this about every visit to the old doctor.  I also have menopause symptoms, hot flashes and when I did get a period, it would put me to my knees, overflowing a super plus tampon in 1 hour and this would last for about 3 days.  I think I passed clots the size of Rhode Island.  I was eying the dyson as a means of performing my own hysterectomy during those days.  Amanda gave me the referrals that I had been asking the old doctor for. 

I went to the first referral Friday afternoon.  I like this doctor, liked him from the moment he walked into the room (liked Amanda the same way, didn't have that feelings for old doctor).  Told him all about everything, hot flashes, terrible periods, peeing issues.  Seems I have a bladder infection.  He gave me HRT (so happy there!) and will be fixing the bladder (it has dropped) with a uterus removal thrown in.  If I could get my stomach stapled at the same time, I would be walking on air but that is not to be.  I go back for the testing to see what type of surgery they will do (that will be a fun filled hour).  This doctor added several more pills to my handful that I take twice a day.  I still need to have the bone scan done since I am shrinking and only 50.

Since this doctor will do my bladder surgery, I need to cancel the other referral.

Best of luck with everything. Kudos for seeing a male doctor, I know I can't stand it.

I just liked him from the moment he walked into the room. Fell in love with him when he said he was putting me on estrogen. Was willing to be is sex slave with the surgery offers. Can you tell I'd been jerked around a bit?
