Home but shouldn't be
Nov. 18th, 2005 09:50 pmThings did not go as planned. Well, they did at first but then went to hell in a hand basket.
They were able to go everything vaginally (this might not have been a good thing). I was fine the first night, kept liquids down, etc. Was cathed so didn't have any responsibilities. Wed. they took out the cath. My job was to be able to empty my bladder enough that there would be no more than 100 ccs of urine left. In theory that should have been a piece of cake. 8 hours after the cath was removed, a ultra sound only showed 75 ccs of fuild in the bladder and I had not peed. That got theire attention and I had to go have a big machine ultrasound (and possibly cat scan) to try and figure out why my kidneys were not producing urine. The cath was reinserted and at some point Wed. night my kidneys started producing. They took out the cath on Thursday and in order to leave the hospital I had to pee and only have 100 ccs or less of fluid in my bladder 3 times. I managed to do that Thursday night. This morning the doctor came in and told me to do it 2 more times. Nothing I did today worked, I was consistanly having 150 to 200 ccs of fluid each time remaining. I got the choice at 4:00 today to either stay another night or go home with a cath in. I picked cath in so got a quick class on how to take care of a cath (Mark got a more hands on class).
I guess true love is willing to change out your wife's cath, measure the output, change bags, etc. I have a leg bag but don't expect to really go out and do much. I am not supposed to drive until next Friday but Mark is working and I need to get to the doctor's office. It is not that far so I should be able to handle it. Not sure if I will get to the craft show to buy the cat's organic catnip.
Off to bed.
I have only skimmed about 1 day of flist. If you had something important, let me know (leave me a link).

yeah. and other things as necissary.
(and you didn't miss much - I had headaches all week. L had some drama with W3 that might be at a truce and I'm getting closer to Charlie (that cute little orange kitty that's been hanging around. I'll use his pic here 'cause he's just so darn cute.)

Date: 2005-11-20 03:24 pm (UTC)Sorry about the headaches. I had a kitty that adopted me that looked like Charlie. He just showed up at the door, came in, understood his place in the kitty pecking order, became Cinnamon's friend (my current cat)and stayed until he got hit by a car. He was the most docile kitty I had ever had.

I first read it as that you were not sure if you would get to the craft show to buy the human catnip! Wow, that's quite the craft show, and maybe some human catnip is what you need right about now! :-)
Big hugs.

Date: 2005-11-20 03:29 pm (UTC)I loved the organic cat nip, it was packaged like human catnip (4 finger ounce). I don't think I will be going, it is too difficult to change out the large bag for the leg bag and technically I am not supposed to drive. Mark is long suffering with this but that might be just one suffer over the top.
My next post will tell you what fun filled day yesterday was.
