seems to have taken themselves out of the running.  They called Mark last week (or two weeks ago) saying they needed to schedule the test taking process.  Mark had just  passed the test before in South Carolina and offered to have those test results forwarded.  Much back and forth occured, releases signed and eventually faxed, etc. etc.  Mark had been calling since last week trying to see if they had gotten the results.  We assumed "Kim" was on vacation.  He talked with her yesterday am and gave her the work office number.  Since layoffs were yesterday, there was no one in the office.  Called this am.  She finally called today.  No they have not gotten the test results but they are not scheduling anymore interviews at this time.

I think we shot ourselves in the foot trying to be helpful and saving them some serious money.  Next time, no mention of already taking the test, etc. etc. etc.  Hope South Carolina still comes through.  There was someone from Vermont interviewing/test taking the same day Mark was, he should have asked him why he was leaving Vermont.

Snow is already beginning to fly in places, if we are moving cross country, I want to do it before it gets really bad.  It is not my idea of fun to be stuck somewhere in a snow storm when the roads are closed with 2 cats and a race to beat the moving truck to the east coast.

What does Mark do again? Good luck with South Carolina.

Nuclear Power Operator. The Vermont job was doing exactly what he is doing now. Having that off the table is a mixed blessing. We would have had to move ourselves and it costs quite a bit to live there. On the other hand, I would have been closer to my family (not counting the sister from hell) which I would have liked. I was also thrilled about only being 80 miles from Boston (having never been there).

At least with South Carolina, I know what I am getting into. And, they move us.

You're idea of fun

Hmm. You describe that like it's happened in the past.

I hope things work out and glad he survived this time. It'll give him more time to look (even if there are stupid logistical challenges to that now.)

Beat the moving truck? Have done that more than once. Moving and worrying about snow? Once and lucked out. Screwing ourselves out of an interview by being helpful? This was the first. I had a feeling Vermont was jerking us around and I was right.
