I am ready to toss this one. For the past few weeks, it has been freezing up. Then it will make a noise and be all better. I have removed cookies, run 2 different spy wares and it still does it. Crap. Of course, when I get Mark in here, it works fine. It started when I loaded the digital camera stuff on so I took that off (along with spy ware that was MSN beta). I get so frustrated having to stop and wait for the machine to catch up with what I am doing. Rebooting sometimes works but not always.

I suppose I can make the lap top my main computer. Will have to get a docking station though. Lap top has its downside, I hate typing on the key board, monitor is smaller and these old eyes won't like that at all.

I don't want to have to switch, I really don't.

Do you have Ad-Aware? If you don't, go to www.lavasoft.com... I was having problems with my computer... This stuff works really well... I mean I used it on ol' Bula over here and it kicked the crap out of the stupid stuff she had on her... lol.

I have a more balanced problem... seems I can't get Photoshop to load on my pc because I don't have certain files to do so.

Yes, I have ad-aware and one other one that I run. Do both, they each get things the other doesn't. Virus protection runs every night so it is not that.

What files are you missing?

That's the problem, I don't remember... it's something like "camp.exe." but don't rely on me for that... I've had a whole night's sleep inbetween messing with it and now. I'll probably try to re-install it sometime within the next couple of days, and then we'll see what is going on.

Maybe the computer really is junk-worthy... hmm... you can have mine, and I'll go get myself that Dell laptop w/ docking station that I've been wanting. Seems much better than the HP Pavilion I'm running on.

sounds like your hard drive is probably fucked up somewhere (if it's making funny sounds, then working) - you can get that replaced for like $85, I wouldn't go out and buy a whole new system.

I have a hard drive around her somewhere unless Mark put it in his computer....that wouldn't be a good idea right now...

When I had Windows ME it did that... and then the computer finally kicked it. And I bought this one :)

This computer was free, I "won" it during a United Way kick-off. Started with Windows ME and then quickly moved to XP.

The new hard drive is still downstairs so that might be a weekend project (but maybe not).
