And actually be there during bike week(s).

Of course, I won't go on the cheap and if I am going to do Sturgis I am doing it right.  Which means staying at the Buffalo Chip.

We are considering staying in the http://www.buffalochip.com/RESERVATIONS/FenskeParkVIP/tabid/79/Default.aspx section.  Not that we would consume the full 12 + hours of free beer but I am pretty sure we would go to the free dinners and the concerts.  One night of the pickfork fondue dinner is included with the by no means inexpensive 990.00 pp.

I've reminded Mark this is a real biker event, not a GoldWing event.  He will need to get past they way Harley riders ride (too close together), their capacity for beer consumption (and willingness to get on a bike after consuming the beer) and like anyone else with a belly full of beer, the ability to be obnoxious.  I've also told him there will be times I won't want to be in my leathers (hello, heat) or even wearing a helmet.  For the most part I do wear my helmet but will want to even out the helmet face tan.

Can we say trust income disbursement?

As a survivor of the event - make sure that you take earplugs and figure out how to keep yourself hydrated.

*hugs*

I'm so jealous -- two things I'd love to do if I had a bike again: Sturgis and Dykes on Bikes at Pride. ;o)

Mark snores, ear plugs are the norm.

We'll have a cooler and always travel with a ton of water/propel/gaterade. You mean beer is not hydrating?

I was telling Mark Sturgis is on your bucket list.

I mean South Dakota in August is brutal and there is nothing there for shade at all. And the wind blows all the time which makes it even worse.

So its worse then the norm and you don't notice and you get dehydrated sick very fast.

The earplugs are for the sleeping because the people don't stop making noise ever. EVER.

Carrying earplugs is the norm for me since Mark snores. At some point, I will collapse from being exhausted and will be able to sleep through anything.

I think I am prepared for the brutal from being in eastern Washington in the summer. We always have tons of water or Propel.

We are also considering staying in one of the cabins (that has air conditioning) or a trailer when can rent there. I would still want to upgrade to the special place though.
