I made Mark call his HR. They never dropped me but there was a plan shift and possibly that is where the insurance black hole happened. Supposed to have new cards and everything. No new cards. I will try and go back to the drug store today and see if Group Health really has reinstated me. Why do I think that did not happen?

We have a minor dusting of snow. Pack yours up Nicole, I want it all. It was so nice last year, tons of snow and we didn't have to leave. If it had lasted much longer, I would have had to go out and get some more hot buttered rum stuff, went through a lot of it while doing the sidewalks, driveways of ours and the neighbors. It is a bitch being the youngest people in the neighborhood (the lazy next door neighbors didn't make an attempt and there are teenage kids in and out of there all day) and at 50, I don't think we are that young. Well, Mark is, he is the baby of the crowd but mid-40s is no spring chicken.

I have to finish up my responsibilities as treasurer of the local Democrat Central Committee. I didn't do a very good job of it (other than trying to hold the chair's feet to the fire for unauthorized spending, she played Miss Passive-Aggressive and would withhold the bank statements). I will be glad to be out of that mess. I inherited a mess and I didn't help it much, played a lot of head in the sand, will it ever go away??

Besides my New Years Resolutions of not sending spam e-mails to the Amish or throwing rocks at whales, I think I will add the I will get more organizied this year (even I roll my eyes at that one) and not avoid crappy jobs, they just get crappier as time goes on.

Not Pooh?

I can waste time in so many creative ways. I am Eyore. I always knew I wasn't really the bear with little brain, I am the clinically depressed Eyore.

I do need to learn how to past things behind things. This is harder than I thought!

You are Eeyore
As one of life's pessemists you always see the
gloomy side of situations. But, your enduring
and patient nature does mean your decisions are
always thoroughly considered before they are
made, but once they are, you still lack
confidence in them.
Life is tough, luckily, so are you.

Which Pooh character are you?

I am so psyched. They have dangled that snow carrot in front of me since NYE. Promised me 4 to 6 inches that night/next day. Not a flake at my house. It is weird in Washington, snow fall is determined by how many feet above sea level you are. That was true on the westside in Bremerton (the houses on the hill above me in housing would have snow and I would have rain) and it was true here New Years Day. Were we went for Brunch (if nothing else, the Gold Wing group does eat well) had snow. We drove home in snow for so far and then rain. Once again, not a flake at home. They were once again dangling the carrot but I didn't bite, I had learned. But the snow gods have smiled upon me and I am very grateful (and will leave a suitable sacrifice to them, as soon as I figure out that that might be). It began snowing at 5 when I stopped into the drug store to see if I really did have coverage. I did, it took a bit of time while they had to redo whatever they do behind that tall counter. As I was walking out, a woman was walking in all excited, it really was snowing. The top of the Scion had a little layer and everything. I drove home trying to see if I could get it to fishtail. Note to self: disengage the traction thingamabob. I had to go back out to a meeting, tried again to get it to be fun. Finally after 3 hours of snowing, I had enough on the ground to make it spin a bit at an intersection. Rear wheel drive might not lend its self to doing donuts in the high school parking lot (guess I will be the oldest one up there, maybe the kids will let me play with their cars).

And, I saw my very first Scion XB commerical. It is hard having a car that you don't even see a commercial for. It was during CSI on Spike.

Is last years snow fall of New Years Eve and Day. We have a Christmas Display of Santa's elves (and I just realized I never put out the tree this year!) and one elf is "pulling" on a donkey. Our 2 week mantra was "The snow covered my ass"

I will post later the nice appearance of the spotlights under the snow and the candy canes lit (what parts were still showing above the snow).

The good thing for tomorrow is that the wonderful couple across the street (we did their driveway, she feed me for 2 weeks, ruined my karma) has a snow blower (they thought it was broken so didn't mention it). We have use of it and she said we can do the entire neighborhood. NOT. I will do her house first, then ours, maybe the people on the other side of us and that will be it. If someone asks, we might. The other neighbors have teenagers, they can shovel (I had to).
