Yesterday

I did ok with Not One Damn Dime (spending no money in protest of the Coronation) until after a League of Women Voters. Some background: I joined this group last August, it costs $50.00 a year. For that fee I am supposed to get mailings from state and national. It is now January and I have gotten nothing. I brought it up to the membership chair who had plenty of excuses for why my name wasn't turned in. There were other people not turned in who probably don't know that they were supposed to be getting things. At the meeting last night, the membership person tried to minimize my concerns, with "You only missed 1 National and 1 state publications". Puleese. Take some responsibility for not doing your job. At the end of the meeting, I went and had a beer. Does that count????

BUT, I did not watch one damn minute of the coverage on TV. Did hear someone on NPR saying he was Kennedyesque in this speech. W and JFK in the same sentence? Are you people smoking crack?

At times I scare myself

with how stupid I can be. A friend passed away (he was 85, it was time). I *thought* that the rosary was tonight at 7. I go only to find a church full of Hispanics. Granted Charlie was a Democrat but I didn't think he had *that much* of an Hispanic following. Came home only to find that the rosary service was at 6, not 7. Now I have to go to the Memorial Mass tomorrow morning (with everyone who is anyone in the area, Charlie was the Mayor of Pasco and a state legislature). It will be so crowded.

Will have to decide if I want to have breakfast with the leather crowd or skip that.

It is Iggle weekend

The biggest weekend of the NFL season (next to Superbowl but one step at a time).  No wonder January 24th is the most depressing day (and I do hope it is real depressing in Atlanta Monday am) of the year.

I have paid homage to the playoff gods.  Proper sacrifices of cold beer and chips have been acquired for the Sunday am sacrificial service.  I am prepared not to watch if they seem to do better without me, I will not be wearing any Iggle gear (but if it appears that they need me to put it on, it is ready to go).  I really really really want to be doing the Happy Dance come 4 pm est (wearing my Iggle wardrobe at that point).
