Plays and breakfast
Jan. 29th, 2005 09:44 amThe new Red Hat club went to see the play "Dinner with Friends" last night at the local playhouse. It is a good play but can be rather intense at times. It is about the end of one marriage and how it affects their best friends. It won a Pulitzer Prize. After the play we went out for drinks. We had to go to 3 places to find some place where there was a bar (and that was open). All the nicer bars are attached to restaurants and they were all closed. Never thought I would be doing my after theater drinks in Denny's bar. How far have we fallen?
It was after midnight by the time I got home so was close to 3 before I fell asleep. For some reason, I was back up at 6 and ended up having breakfast with the leather crowd. Seems when I am tired all I want to do is eat. I will have to go crash again. There is a rally in support of the union Tyson workers (who are being intimidated right before their re-vote for representation. Tyson laid about 400 off and are telling them in not so many words that if the union comes in, they might be out of a job for quite sometime. I would like to go to that so will have to tell my body to wake me up at 11:30. It is too bad it is this weekend, many of our Democrat office holders are in Seattle for a state meeting, they could have had more people at the rally. I am a member of the Steelworkers Union (they have a special membership now for auxiliary members) so should be there.
