For you church going pleasure
Apr. 9th, 2005 11:39 pmA visiting minister during the offertory prayer:
"Dear Lord," he began with arms extended and a rapturous look on his upturned face, "without you we are but dust..."
He would have continued, but at that moment, one very obedient little girl (who was listening carefully for a change!) leaned over to her mother and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, "Mommy, WHAT is butt dust?"
Church was pretty much over at that point

Apr. 9th, 2005 11:39 pmLet me begin with how much I love her humor (along with her politics). She had an HBO special on tonight. I haven't laughed this hard is quite sometime, even more than I laughed at Robin Williams's latest. Tonight would have been a good night to have TVO. I will have to check when it comes on again and tape it. I might even try the straight to DVD burn.
Her riff on 9/11 - priceless. It was the Fontaine character. The next set was Earlene and girl things. This set might not resonant with men but it will hit home with the girls, esp. if you are of a certain age. For you young kids, it is just a taste of what is to come. I kept pounding the bed so hard when I was laughing that I upset the cats. The last set was poignant, made you think and it ended on that type of reflective note.
She still has it.
