Amazing, the Lowes ad is interesting
May. 11th, 2008 03:16 pmWe submitted a counter offer, removal of the "as is" clause, limit of 500.00 in repairs. We increased our escrow to 1K and gave them no remedy for omissions. I am still covered by the intense inspection that will happen. At least 5 hours of inspection with Mark right behind him.
We are all still a little testy about that the seller's agent told my agent we had a deal at 206 with no issues. Sean asked that twice. Then the counter came in with all the crap on it. We walked away, started looking at different houses. Suddenly, things were changing. Guess we are the only people who have been interested.
if there is a roof issue, my agent thinks we can ask for 1/2 the money from the sellers. I told my agent we weren't out to screw these people over, we know they are taking a loss. We will do the screens that are broken, cut, have holes. Screen material is not that expensive and we will be replacing the windows eventually.
Once we close, we get a 10% off coupon for Lowes so will wait to order the fridge and flooring. Have decided to replace the living and dining rooms plus the hall with hardwood (or Pergo, depends what is on sale). The stairs need to be done too but have no idea how to do that. Hello, Google. I might be willing to pay for someone to do that. For that matter, Lowes might be the one installing the flooring. Depends how comfortable Mark is with doing it.
