Let that be a lesson for you
Apr. 5th, 2005 10:29 pmWe all know the rule - you don't lick anything metal in the winter when it is cold outside - and we have all done it at one time. I would like to expand the rule - if you put a spoon in the freezer, don't lick it either.
Back in March I had a Longaberger booth at a culinary show. One of my displays was the Not So Lazy Susan, crescent dishes and a 1/2 gallon (round) of ice cream in the 2 booking American Craft Originals crock. The crescent dishes were full of ice cream type toppings, sprinkles, marshmallows, nuts, etc. Obviously I couldn't have a full 1/2 gallon of ice cream in the display (not without having ice cream soup) so I emptied out a container the night before. I am good but even I couldn't polish off 1/2 gallon of ice cream so I scooped it into Tupperware and put it in the downstairs freezer. I was grazing in the tupperware the other night and put the bowl back in the freezer, along with the spoon. I decided with all the talk of the ice cream man on my FList that I wanted ice cream. Trotted down the stairs to score some old fashioned vanilla. Can you see where this is going? Without thinking, I stuck ice cold spoon in mouth. Ouch. Eww. Should think before inserting things into mouth. I should have taken it as a warning...I really did not need the ice cream. Maybe if the spoon had been bigger, it might have stopped me.
