We've done this for years. It is just recently that there is camping out in front of the store. A few years ago we did it to help find something for an on-line friend, the hot toy of the year. Years before we used to get up, have breakfast at Dennys and hit the stores. I think the hot thing was 5 inch tv/radios for about 40.00 (way cheap then).

I really hate shoving my way through the big box stores unless it is early in the am. Usually find something at Sears that is a door buster for a different weekend.

My family has gotten so small (at least the ones I talk to), mainly cousins, that we don't have to buy for them. Mark's side of the family sends us trays from some on line cheese place, not good, don't even think the homeless want it. We used to send them much more but are backing off (for years she got Longaberger). Probably will send them a cheese tray from the same place - I think she needs to see what crap she is sending. There is on aunt and uncle I send local food to.

Basically, we are in lines now to get what we want. Either we are getting new desk tops or at least a flat screen monitors this year. My desk top was free through work (won it in a United Way fundraiser), I did have to buy XP Professional since IT had cleaned the hard drive off just a little too far. One of the law partners got me access to Microsoft's Company store so I got things way cheap - she was appalled that there was no OS on it. Both of our deskstops work find but new is always nice. We would end up giving the old desktops away to someone who needs them.
