Effective December 8th, there will no longer be smoking in public places (bars, resturants, non-tribal casinos and bowling alleys) plus you can not smoke by the entrance of a building (must be 25 feet away). Finally.

Didn't appreciate being told by the head of No to the smoking ban that I didn't know what I was voting for when I voted yes. I am well aware of what I was voting for, why do you think I voted yes? He also complained that they were outspent. Life sucks and I no longer have to suck your nasty smoke filled air.

Idiot.

They best inforce it, the inititive won overwhelmingly. I can see some bars becoming "private clubs" so that they can smoke. NY, Delaware and CA all have this rule and they haven't gone under. If given a chance, it is very possible boost profits since all of us who can't stand the smell of smoke will be back in the places of business.

The county I live in is non-smoking, and so is one of the adjoining counties (Montgomery and Howard). I heard something on the radio on my way into work about an initiative passing yesterday in PG county about smoking in restaurants - need to find out what that really means, and DC has been talking about it. While some places in Monkey county have suffered, most haven't and in fact tax revenues have gone up.

I didn't know about DE - and thought NY was only the city. HMM. I guess I didn't really eat anywhere when I went up to the Catskills this past summer.

The 25' from a door is GREAT.

Not sure if you saw my gripe about smoking in Oakland when I went to see my brother's band. UGH. There were people smoking in the back room and the person taking money was smoking - mostly he'd step outside, but then he'd walk in with the lit cig and of course he was RIGHT outside. Chris (the brother) told us to checkout an art exhibit down the street, but I couldn't because there were people IN THE DOORWAY smoking. I was VERY VERY sick the next day.

YEAH!!! YEAH!!!! I am hitting the bars, baby! :-)

We made the curling club fully nonsmoking two years ago, and man, was that ever nice. Before you could smoke in the bar and if you wanted a drink you had to run the gauntlet.

Beautiful!!!
