A bit of progress is being made

I have the 21 pound turkey in the oven. That really freed up some space in the chest freezer and should feed us quite well for this coming week.
I have finally gotten all the "cant't throw these shirts away, they have memories" washed and dried. I still have to cut them up and get them ready to make t-shirt quilts. There is a class this week so I need to get at least one catagory ready. I have enough Hard Rock shirts to make 10 quilts - it is bad enough that I am going to be making reversable quilts (which are a bitch to qet on the long arm quilting machine and making sure everything matches up).
Catagory list: sports, travel (combined with local where have we lived shirts such as I saw the Torch from the Atlanta games), Hard Rock, Ireland, shirts and places I just loved and Pooh. The Pooh and friends will be done for my cousin's child who got all my Pooh things. I might make a crib sized one for my grand nephew since his room is Pooh.
Much of the sports and Pooh's need to be washed and dried.
I even applied for a job here in the Tri-Cities, a real job. Since I don't speak Spanish, the odda are I won't get it. The job is being a legal advocate for victim's of domestic violence. I've done that work before and it can be very emotionally draining. We've had quite a few domestic violence incidents that turned deadly for the parties involved.
I even managed to vacuum the kitchen floor, clear off the counters, load the dishwasher and write down Annie's address so I can make an attempt to get Douglas' gifts packed up and shipped to her. Baby is not here yet but if my grand nephew's quilt and box is any indication of how slowing I move, these kids will be graduating from college before they get the new baby stuff.
I need to throw out some more junk.

Date: 2006-09-30 09:48 pm (UTC)Good luck with the job application. I'm not sure I could handle anything like that.
If it takes until collage to get the baby stuff then I can just hold on to it and give it to my grandchild, lol. Either way it works out :)

Date: 2006-09-30 10:44 pm (UTC)I have made progress. I think I have found a box and have gathered up a few things more for you and Patrick than Douglas...now just to get them wrapped/packed and out of the house.
