Microwaves and sponges might not mix well

For those of you who have rushed to nuke your icky kitchen sponge in the microwave to get rid of the bad germies ...

I send mine through the dishwasher whenever I think it is getting icky. I am sure some of my germaphobe friends would be sending it through the dishwasher on every cycle. :)
