chelelev: (Bush thinking)

It was Washington's caucus day.   I went. 4 years ago there were 8 people who showed up from my precenct.  This year 25, w/ the majority for Obama.

I am now a delegate to the county and legislative district.  I probably will get the urge to go to State Convention, if only for the hospitality rooms.  It is only 2 1/2 hours away (if that, since I have a heavy foot)  I would have to stay one night just because I would not be wanting to do the drive back after hitting the hospitality rooms.  See if I get elected to go first.

The end of the Bushies is in sight.

Edited to add:

I never thought I would see the day when a black man and a woman were viable candidates for President.  I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes when Obama won Iowa.  It is almost beyond comprehension.  Finally, when we tell our children, black, white, asian, hispanic, native american, boys, girls that they could grow up to be President, it not a lie.  No matter who gets the nomination, history is being made.

This election is so important, we don't need someone that office who thinks we should stay in Iraq for the next hundred years or who is chomping at the bit to smack Iran down.

That last paragraph is directed at the Rs on my list.

I love that speech, complete with goosebumps. I found the video on UTube, it was on the news last night.

I am old enough to remember Kennedy. I have never been so inspired by a candidate. I supported who ever the Dems put up but quite a few of them were hold my nose votes. I have never seen a candidate who was able to unite this country like Obama, at least not on the dem's side.

It is going to be an interesting process.

I can't remember how I found you (I think jameth's friend list), but I just thought I'd reply.

The only people excited about Obama are Democrats. The only difference is that all the lazy Democrats who usually don't bother to vote (and haven't for decades) are coming out of the woodwork now. Yes, you can credit Obama's charisma (which is great, I must say), but you can also credit the hoards of self-proclaimed progressive types salivating at the chance to get up on the 'change' bandwagon. And yes, it's because he is black. Were Obama the same exact man, but Republican or white, you never would have heard of him.

Obama may have a desire to be this 'uniter' that you speak of. But no one can unite a country of divided people if the people aren't willing to do it themselves. So when you talk about 'the R's on your list' in such snide tones and denounce the talking points of Republicans and Republican candidates, how do you expect Obama, this great 'uniter', to actually get it done?
