Do not always rely on what LJT says on the left hand side -- sometimes that is the journal they are looking THROUGH -- like a few times when you checked my f-list and read Dirt's journal, LJT thought you were me.
The name on the left hand side is LJT's "best guess" at who is looking at your LJ based on past hits -- what Mock says is that if the name is in regular type, it is most likely right and if it is italicized, it is a guess.
So, if it says "P" they are looking at a specific post -- "UI" means they are hitting your info page -- "J" means they are looking at your journal in general -- "F" usually means someone on your flist is viewing your LJ through their flist -- "FF" usually means someone is a friend of a friend .. looking at your LJ through someone on your flist.
"NR" means LJT doest know what they are looking at, just that they are hitting your journal.
If there is no LJT guess on the left and you cannot ID the person with their IP via your comments, there really is no way of knowing anything more than their IP and their location.
Sometimes you can guess -- like if you just posted in a comm and see a lot of hits, you can guess it is someone from that comm -- or if you are e-arguing with someone and get a hit from their city, it is most likely them -- but those are just guesses.

Hit Source: Is the IP, but users can label these. Sometime you'll see a LJname there even if there isn't one in the appropriate column.
If there's no LJ name and you don't know the specific person's IP that you're trying to see if they are reading, there is no way to tell who it is.

Did all that make sense?
