I don't think that I have mentioned at I was co-chair for our church's annual Christmas Bazaar (this is my second year). It is a lot of work, I did the flyers (looking for vendors and the publicity flyers), Barbara my co-chair sent out the letters to previous vendors, fielded phone calls from those wanting a table and made up the table chart.

It is not that much hard work until the 3 to 4 hours of hell when we are trying to set up and the vendors are coming in with their things. I just wanted to pull my hair out. I wanted around telling people that the happy pills are not working so beware. We had to mark off the spaces, move tables around, move the racks of chairs out into the hall. There is a day care that operates at one end of the room, you really have to wait for them to leave (at 6) before you can really get into working and moving. The 7th grade class helps with set up (ok, they sometimes are not that helpful!) and clean up. They also greet people at the door, give them the free raffle ticket and direct them to also visit the vendors in the library. For this, they get $200.00 to help pay for their camp. They also provide lunch (baked potato bar, a drink and a cookie or brownie for 4.00) as a fund-raiser too,

When the kids are at the door, there is supposed to be an adult watching them. She was must more concerned with watching what was going on at the bazaar and not what the kids were not doing. So I had to be out there riding herd on them. One boy didn't want to be there except if he could just come and distract his friends. At one point they all walked away and I am just going WTF? When we got some great kids who knew how to do it, followed directions and did a great job. Those kids were a pleasure to be around (and a parent was there). Mr. PIMA kept coming out to hang and I kept sending him back to the kitchen. I told him that he wasn't interested in doing this job this morning, he can't come out and hang with those who are doing a good job. He missed his opportunity to have a cushy job.

I was so tired Saturday night. We had been at the school since 3 in the afternoon Friday and them from 6:30 am to 4:15 pm on Saturday. And we are on our feet all day (you really don't want to sit down, you can never get back up). Every 1/2 hour we gave away a door prize so we had to be around for that.

There were no commercial vendors, everything was hand made. There were some lovely things and there were so ugly crap (which I am pretty sure didn't move). I got a beautiful wreath for the front door. It is so think that I think I will have to hang it inside the door (and that way, I can smell it too!) and a scarf (the fuzzy knit ones that I can't seem to make). I have an order for some soy based lotion but will get that after the surgery. I didn't buy as much this year, I do have a card for "my gardner's" SO who makes cushions that you can heat in the microwave (or freezer) to comfort. What makes hers different from what I have is that she scents them, a choice of mink, lavender and cinnamon. Very nice.

I am trying to get something straightened up before I go into the hospital tomorrow. Which means areas that had not been dysoned for sometime are getting hit. I have dumped enough cat hair to knit myself a new kitty. One hopefully does not shed as much as mine do. They don't like to be brushed and they are terrified of the dyson (or any appliance that makes noise) or I would just vacuum them and save the floor, couches, duvet covers.

Day is on our bed constantly. My duvet cover is burgundy (used to match a could of houses ago), I hate taking the covers on or off so I have tossed a white sheet over the bed in an attempted to cut down on the fur on the duvet so I don't have to wash it (or sticky roll it). Night will stay on the bed sometimes but she is more inclined to get kitty time from Mark down in his office (when he is working strange schedules, he sleeps there, it is quieter for him and I can pretty much work on the whole house when he is sleeping during the day.

It also helped my need to get somewhat organized is that I misplaced a check for two tables. Finally found it in my purse (been there all the time). Well at least I found it and didn't have to go back and ask for another one.

Just so someone realizes, organized to me is that I have made different piles. Each time I sort through the piles, more things get tossed. It is a slow process for a pack rat, very slow.

I have been hoarding books for while I am recovering (not to mention the hours I have dvred). I have such a pile and to be honest (this is going to shock some), I haven't read the latest Harry Potter. That is one of the books I am taking with me (along with some new paperbacks). The only thing I might have trouble with is Harry is rather heavy and he might be difficult for me to read when I am hurting. We shall see.
