The 1/2 Who are coming to Seattle and Portland.  Oh my.  Do we want to spend
  • Reserved 1: $203.00
  • Reserved 2: $98.00
  • Reseved 3: $78.00
  • Reserved 4: $53.00

to see them again?  After being front row at the Gorge, I don't know if I could settle for seats where I am wondering who those little people on the stage are.

The seats are $1.00 less at the Rose Garden in Portland (which is a much easier drive).

Problem will be that I will be away from the computer watching a race - more about that next post - and Mark is working nights that weekend so will be probably asleep.

I left early Wednesday am to fly to Columbus for a Longaberger convention.  Delta is contracting with baby airlines and the first plane to Salt Lake City held maybe 30 people.  It was small enough that you had to check your rolling small bags.  I was stuck in the last seat (why I hadn't noticed that when I was checking my seats, I will never know).   No sleeping on that flight.

The second plane to Columbus was a bit bigger but still only held maybe 50  people.  I was going to try and get bumped up to first class on my return flight but all I would get up there is a bigger seat.  Not worth using my miles for.

Got to Columbus, got the basic rental car - the one without remote locks or power windows - found cranberry juice to go with my vanilla vodka.  Got the car unloaded and checked into the room at the Hyatt.  Beautiful room,. courner with lots and lots of windows.

Did the LB Bee and was not overwhelmed with the new products.  See how my customers like it.  This might be my last year doing LB.  I would keep it for the discount but that is it.

Left Columbus Sunday morning and drove to the Syracuse area.  Other than a bunch of cops on the road, the drive was uneventful.  It is very hot and humid here.  Putzed around on Monday and went and did some public records searching on Tuesday.    Tuesday was recond heat, heat index of 110.  That is a routine temp in Richland but it is a dry heat and not as humid.  Wednesday my cousin Charla, I and the blind dog Nemo drove to Charla's house in Granville, NY.  Still hot even though I can see the green mountains of Vermont from her front door.  Went to a Rotary meeting with her and got sick from the heat.  It might have been a combo of heat and the meds starting to give me the upset tummy routine.  Actually felt a bit better after vomiting everything up.  It didn't help that the meeting was in one of these east coast old buildings with smell.  Badly.  We then went and visited some of Charla's friends who had air conditioning.

This morning it seems nice but I am sure the temp will rise.  A cold front was supposed to have come through but you couldn't tell it my by me.

Today is going to be spent looking through pictures and seeing what there is of our shared ancestors.  Then over to the friend's house with the pool.  I am pretty sure we will go to Vermont at some point to get gas, much less expensive there.

Friday we are meeting with yet another cousin and are going into the mountains to spend the night.  Charla's sister is running a race called "beat the train" on Saturday am and the race begins at 8..  The train takes the runners and spectators to the start of the race and then the purpose of the runners is to beat the train back.  Should be interesting..

We go back to Syracuse Sunday.  I am supposed to meet up with another cousin Wednesday to see what he has done with pictures he had/has.

I do need to go back to the public records room and see what else I can find.  Copies are very expensive there.

It is a casino (no tables, just slots) next to the Saratoga Trotter racing track in Saratoga, NY.  I had already done the races before, this would be something new.  Plus, smoke free.

Very quickly I lost 40.00 playing poker.  It took me a few bucks lost to show me that this machine was not my friend.  I wandered over to the quarter slots, my criteria there was that there had to be a cherry somewhere.in the spins.  Somehow I won back my money and I cashed that voucher out (no money falls into the trays but you do get the sounds).  I started walking around the casino and notice credits on this one machine.  I hit the bet button and there really was credits left on that machine.  I cashed that puppy out and played on that movey for quite a bit of time.  But that and another 5.00 were soon gone.  I inserted my voucher for 79.50 into the $1,00 machine.  I never play there, too much money but I gave it a few spins, 3.00 each time. 4th spin the lights started going, hearding that noise as your winnings are being talled on the machine and I was now the winner of  $228.50.  Happy days are hear again.  Rushed that slip into the cashier cage and took my initial "investment" out of the pile.  Still up well over 180.00.  Played 2.00 got 4.00.  Played 4.00, got 8.00.  I wisely thought this would be the end of my gambling for the day.. I was ahead and that is always a good thing.

It is a bit cooler today but it is still hot and humid.  They promised rain, the rain gods are punishing me.

Maybe I should have one more so that I could buy my icon.  I think he is old enough now and I wouldn't become another Mary Kay .
