We are in wonderful Missoula, Montana.
We left Tri-Cities at about 7:30 this morning. When we stopped to get gas I had to switch helmets. My new helmet hurts my head (it is putting too pressure on both sides of my head). I figured if I kept switching back and forth, it wouldn't be too bad. My old helmet hurts in one place but I can deal with that. At the same time, I took 2 Oxys to help w/ the pain and no sleep. Had a great buzz going on when we stopped for lunch. A little food and that buzz was killed.
Coming down in to Montana is when I finally began to get warm. I had silks under my air mesh (legs only) and a t-shirt under the jacket. Froze my arms off until about 2 hours ago. Won't be needing those silks tomorrow.
It is another 5 to 6 hours tomorrow on the bike. It will be nice to get to Billings and settle into "base camp". We are still debating how to do the Badlands, Sturgis, Mt. Rushmore, etc. I am pushing for Sturgis first, I need to see if I can find a place to get a tattoo, it is a tradition, go to Sturgis, get a tat. So would like to be there when things are open. It is not that far of a back track to get to Deadwood where we are staying. There is a run into Spearfish Canyon that I would like to do at some point.
I don't think I will have any problems sleeping tonight. Helps that I only got about 2 to 3 hours last night.
