The court of public opinion is in over drive.  IF this dude killed JonBenet (which I doubt with all the holes in his story) you should have no trouble proving it with concrete evidence not just his half-assed confession which wasn't really a confession.   Did your really need to fly him from Thailand in frist class and let him order alcohol?  I don't think so. 

I do think he was/is has a serious infactuation with her and really wants attention but he is not the killer.  Boulder police so want to make an arrest just so the heat will come off of them for doing sloppy work to begin with.

I do like this theory - an intruder did kill her, Mom found the body, thought someone else in the family did the deed (brother?) so wrote the letter to throw the cops off.

I'm thinking this guy is a fake too. It just didn't strike me as much when they said they had arreseted someone. I'm not sure they ever will get the true killer, this guy is just a freak.
