Once again

I have misplaced my debt card.  I do this often.  Should be able to drill a hole in the corner and attached it to me with a coil so that I don't misplace it.

No one has been using it so it is somewhere in this house.  I last used it last Saturday getting gas coming home from work.

On a different note, how did I managed to pay a bill twice this month?  Within 5 days of each payment?  I think there might have been a glitch somewhere.  If I pay them a 3rd time this month, I will raise a fuss.  At least the bank thinks I have money.  Quicken does not agree which is a good thing for my lack of fiscal responsibility.

Missing debit card?  Money stays in the account.  Not a bad thng.

If you get a debit card that can also be used as a visa or mastercard - you can request that it's only a debit. that way if you misplace it, there's no way someone can be taking $ out of your checking account. It's a bit of a pain, but is wonderful for the piece of mind. Sure they might reimburse all fraudulent charges, but will they do that before a check bounces?

The new cards we got from the bank say debit right on them. That doesn't mean someone does not process them as credit since I don't always punch in my code.

I only misplace my card in my house, car, etc.

It was right where I left in, in the jeans I wore to work last weekend, the ones I *thought* I had taken everything out of the pockets.

I always go back and make them give me ones that are ONLY debit and distroy the ones with the MasterCard or Visa logos so they can only be used with the code. I've had my wallet stollen a coupld times and it's a huge PITA. One time someone broke into my house (well, opened an unlocked window -- WHILE I WAS HOME.) and another time they took it 'cause I was sick and not very alert - that time they used my cards and is why I make sure anything linked to my bank account needs a PIN. One of the cards (a CitiBank) was used for months at a gas station even though it was cancelled. I always got my $ back, but I had to call every month.

Glad you found your card! I still haven't found the one I lost last year - and I KNOW it's somewhere in my house.
