To continue the Red Hat saga....we have decided (on the advice of more than one husband who is tired of hearing the shit) to attend the lunch on Friday and send out e-mails that afternoon saying that we have decided to leave this group (and start a new one, but that won't be mentioned). This is friends only until Saturday when I will release it out to the public. We've spoken with other queens and have figured out that our current queen is just frigging lazy. She has me doing all the work and she gets all the perks. She works only 20 hours a week but doesn't have time to maintain the roster, make reservations, etc. She cries poor so doesn't do any of the extra things we do. Hello, being in the fair parade (yes it is lame) is free. She would not have had to go to the lunch after, they could have gone home. We try and not to real expensive stuff but I want more than a lunch during the month.

Once we go, there won't be much of a group anymore, we were the ones who came to everything.

tjoelyn is a Red Hat Society member, too. I even made her a little icon for it a while back. :-)

We is the core group of us who go every month, show up for other activities and basically are the active members.

There are about 4 of us who are going to Elko, Nevada for a weekend of Red Hat people. We are taking over the Red Lion. The only downside is that I am limited to a 19 inch bag (the company who plans these trips have their own plane but doesn't want to load any luggage, if they have to, it is 25.00 more) and a oversize carry on. I can fit 2 gallons of vodka in my backpack, they really need to spell out how oversize it can be.

BTW, I tried to contact tjoelyn but she only lets friends contact her. Maybe you could ask her if she is going to Elko, Nevada in March?
