Maynerd Ferguson

Maynerd Ferguson (jazz great) came and played our little burg tonight.  Mark and I had gone to see him before one of the times he played Jazz Alley.  Mark was in marching band in high school (tuba no less) so wanted to see who had written some of the music he performed in high school.

We had front row seats, which were good for seeing (and the chairs seemed bigger for those of us whose butts are no longer high school size) but bad for the ear drums.  He doesn't play are much as he used to, he really showcases his band (and they are great too).

What I did like was the audience was alot to high school (and younger) kids.  They got a kick out of the music (and you could tell who was in marching band by what songs they recognized).
