I'm in trouble
Mar. 11th, 2006 02:31 pmI have a habit of not filing income tax until my 3 years is up. This has backfired on me this year, I can't find any W2 information for 2003. Nada, nothing, not even an envelope. I *know* I put them with other paperwork in one of my plastic folders and that particular folder has gotten some legs and run for the hills.
On the upside, I did find my birth certificate. Not that I needed it any longer since I quit the job. They wouldn't take my expired passport since it was in my maiden name, funny - no other job has refused it.

Date: 2006-03-14 05:58 am (UTC)Since I have a home based business, I get lots of deductions, which is what saves our butt every year. For the past 2 years, my accountant has been ammended previous returns and gets us more money back (not having any kids to claim as deductions, I have to use something). This will be his first year for actually filing a return, start to finish. At least I do know where 2004's and 2005's are so should probably work on those too.

Date: 2006-03-14 02:45 pm (UTC)I still have to total my different catagories and get that organized before I send it all off the to Steve the Wonder CPA. It will go out by the end of this week (at the latest).
Things will get interesting after that, starting in 2004, I get "income" (interest) from my mother's trust plus there was the first of 5 bulk payments given out. I know the interest is income, but I don't think the principal is taxable.
