In my own house, with a remote, cable and most importantly, AIR CONDITIONIG.

Everywhere we went, it was record setting heat. Who would have thought Yellowstone, elevation of 8K would be a hell hole. No where in Yellowstone is there air conditioning, no where. There was no place to get away from the heat. The animals didn't like it, they weren't out and about, I didn't like it.

The only place I was comfortable was at 10,946 feet and we were only there for a bit before heading down the other side. I ddi meet the chipmonk on steroids, he was huge. Not to mention tame. Mark doesn't know his wildlife well and kept calling him a squirrel - we have those in our yard, not like he has never seen one. Rolling eyes. He also called the ground squirrels whistle pigs in Yellowstone. Had to google and show him that a whistle pig is a woodchuck.

We paid a lot of money to go on this "wildlife" tour of Yellowstone. Saw nothing more than what we had seen coming in. They were 1/2 hour late picking us up and dropped us off 1/2 hour early. I am still composing that letter of complaint. Hell, we saw more on our back roads driving - pronghorns, antelope, bison behind a fence. The elk near our cabin was impressive when you are driving by him on a motorcycle. So were the bison walking down the road next to us. There is a 25 foot rule in Yellowstone, no one told the animals. I did get some good pictures of the bison and pronghorns - the ones in Montana would run as soon as I got the camera up to my face. Hard not to get a good picture of the bison when he is less than 10 feet from you.

We spent way too much money but that is what vacations are about. I go back to work tomorrow. I don't think I remember one damn thing about Amazon.com. The joy will be in a few weeks and it is Harry Potter release and the foolish promise Amazon made...if you don't get the book on release day, the book is free. I can hear the calls now.
